The federal tax credit scholarship program provides a new pathway to educational access for millions of school-age children across the country. This new law enables individual taxpayers to claim a 100% non-refundable federal tax credit for donations made to nonprofit scholarship granting organizations (SGOs), which then provide direct scholarship support to eligible families. The program also protects the independence of schools and families while giving parents more control over their children’s academic journey.
